From HuffPost Canada: Nature can positively impact people’s mental health in major ways. People who spend time outdoors tend to get more exercise, which elevates mood and improves quality of life, and be exposed to more sunlight, which releases serotonin and regulates a normative sleep cycle.

“We are currently in an era of biological psychiatry, and conventional medicine tends to ignore the potential role of nature in healing and recovery. This is unfortunate, given that evidence suggests that contact with nature can improve mental health in three ways.”
