Efrat Gold is a PhD candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Her work weaves together often-neglected histories, particularly those related to the mobilization of psychiatric power. Gold seeks to unsettle dominant theories of mental health and illness by contextualizing them within historic, social, and capitalist relations. Her interdisciplinary work engages with psychiatry/psychology, history/historiography, critical disability studies, queer world-making, and feminism.
