Exploring the Service User Experience of Mental Health Assessments Study

September 10, 2018

Mental Health Act assessments are a little spoken about experience within mental health. This is the first study to ask service users about their experiences and they told us so many different insights and improvements to this process. This event aims to share their good and bad experience and then to explore how these experience could be improved. It is important time to look at MHA assessments as there is a review of this Act by an independent committee.

The study is a collaboration between service user researchers, an AMHP, psychology assistant and Psychiatrists. It has been supported by a Health Education England award, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust Research and Development and Brighterway charity.

We would like as many people with lived experience to attend so have some funding to cover travel expenses (not taxis) of service users especially any participants of the research. Please contact the organiser for further information.
