I am so happy I found this site. I am a person with Asperger’s Syndrome. I don’t want to be fixed. I want to be tolerated, accommodated, and understood.

I get so frustrated when people respond to emotional drama with medical intervention.

Like, after Whitney Houston died, her daughter was understandably distraught. The family took her to the hospital to be sedated. What? The mother died as a result of drug addiction. Sedatives are addictive. This is like condemning the daughter to die. Why not accept that people do have emotions? It’s ok to have emotions. It’s normal to be distraught the day after your mother dies unexpectedly.

I find it *so* rejecting when I’m upset and I want to talk to someone about it and all they can say is that I need therapy, because they can’t cope with emotions.
