Hi Bruce – I imagine that any group of people that id’s as psychiatric survivor, people harmed by the medical system, or brings a anti-authoritarian political lense to their support, or such, would probably also welcome you as a relative who’s NOT looking for some nami-type patient-typecasting group to validate labeling and controlling people. But ask first of course. Good luck.
Not offended, just exhausted. Sorry.
Hey- if you can read this – try writing Dr. Yolande Lucire – lucire (at) ozemail (dot) com.au – she might be available to talk next month.
John Read if you can find a current email for him – j.read (at) auckland (dot) ac.nz may be out of date since that might not be his current workplace.
Niall McLaren may know of other sympathetic doctors if nothing else?
So this is the psychiatrist currently assigned to you, right? “Patients Don’t Know He Killed His Wife”?
“NINE YEARS after he shot and killed his wife, George Sliwinski was back in his job as a psychiatrist, treating mentally ill patients in public hospitals.”
I’m a US-based anarchist and survivor of psychiatry, and I see police violence, psychiatric violence, being the rule and the norm for enforcing capitalism, rather than cases of corruption or scandals. This is pretty extra, though.
If you want I can set up a burner email so we can communicate directly. Would you be comfortable discussing any more details, like terms of the court/police order? In the US, court orders typically demand that a diagnosed-person follows the directions of *a* psychiatrist, but don’t mandate a *specific* psychiatrist. If you were able to connect with a doctor who would agree to stop the prescriptions, that’s a way I’ve seen other people get out of this situation.
You probably already know about proxy browser security, and things like Technitium for changing MAC address for online privacy. On pretty short notice I’ve been able to find (temporary) refuge with collective houses or eco-village/farmstead type places, where I was able to stay for a work-trade setup and keep a low profile for a while. Let me know if you want to talk by email.December 26, 2017 at 9:56 am in reply to: Public Citizen: Forced drugging – assisted outpatient treatment (widespread) #143340
WHY ARE YOU TALKING AS IF JEWISH PEOPLE AND OTHER ETHNIC MINORITIES ARE NOT CURRENTLY BEING ATTACKED BY RIGHT-WING MILITIAS AND THE POLICE?
Ephe, FD, do you honestly imagine that homophobia isn’t a huge, dangerous force in the lives of LGBT people anymore? How sheltered (or just straight) does one have to be to make such an absurdly ridiculous claim?November 21, 2017 at 7:23 am in reply to: Thinking About Becoming a Therapist. Here Is a Problem I Would Face. #131331
well, I wish you luck. I’ve certainly met some good humanistic/psych-critical counselors in private practice who take medicare/medicaid and are fairly accesable but we could always use more.
If you wind up going into this practice, I would sincerely hope in the most friendly spirit possible, that you rethink your perspective that homophobia is no longer a serious/present-day issue that endangers LGBT people today.February 20, 2017 at 1:18 pm in reply to: Looking for a doctor in Texas who will let me withdraw from meds #91462
MindFreedom has a good, if slightly old, database of likeminded practitioners on their website….
Also this person is a cool doctoral student in Texas who might know something: https://ericafletcher.wordpress.com/about/November 30, 2016 at 1:12 am in reply to: Pseudo-leftist Slavoj Žižek sticks his big post-modernist foot in his mouth #85337
“And he is the very only Slovenian ever, who get any mainstream media attention,so far.”
Actually, lol, there is another….
Also, The New Inquiry????
They just published this:
Look over pitch guidelines and stuff, and see what they want / how they want it presented…. Good luck!! You deserve to get your work out there, seriously.
Some sites of conversation I like….
Mask Mag (anarcho-leaning, emphasis on anti-prison stuff) currently on their WOO ISSUE, which psychiatry could fit quite well with
Indie print journal called “Hoax” (queer-feminist themed, sold in some stores like Bluestockings) accepting submissions for their “Feminisms And Spaces” issue until the end of the year!
IT’S GOING DOWWWWWWWWWNNN
The FBI has launched an investigation into a series of fires along the Bakken oil pipeline construction in Jasper County. The latest incident was reported late Saturday night near Reasnor.
A backhoe and three bulldozers were damaged by the fire. Officials with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office estimate $2,000,000 in damages to the equipment.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the preliminary investigation indicates that fires were intentionally set. The equipment was operated by one of the companies contracted by the Dakota Access Pipeline project.
This is the same location that equipment was believed to be intentionally set on fire in August.
I read Reid’s article and looked at your website… I’m so sorry he and you are going through this right now.
I’m down to help brainstorm / be in whatever conversations are happening around this.
There’s no functional private-messaging system here, but if you want to contact me you can send me an email at [email protected].
(If anybody wants to make a “front” email for communicating further with people from the forums, I’d recommend tutanota.com, it’s really quick/easy to make an account there, pretty secure too.)October 21, 2016 at 1:13 am in reply to: Community treatment order class action lawsuit (USA) #83145
So MIA actually doesn’t have a working private-message function, and the profile pages don’t seem to be working right now either. But I would like to join in any future conversations/planning that you’re doing around this! You can email me at [email protected]

I’m curious – are you talking about the case where former sex offenders were being held indefinitely in a “treatment center” after completing their prison sentences? I was reading a about the state Supreme Court ruling it unconstitutional and what’s been happening since…
Since the ruling, several offenders have been provisionally released or moved into the final phases of treatment. But awaiting many offenders outside of the program are more restrictions: confinement in group homes or nursing homes; restrictions from getting jobs, using vehicles or going online; and constant G.P.S. monitoring. They can face exile from entire communities in Minnesota, as more local governments place moratoriums on where they can live.
Terhaar is different, though. His only offenses were committed as a juvenile. He’s the first sex offender in the history of the 20-year-old MSOP to be recommended for full, unconditional release by a special review board. If the three-judge panel hearing his case in Hastings approves his release, he would no longer be subject to any monitoring or supervision by the state of Minnesota.
I would be really interested in seeing what kind of precident this might set for psych inmates….
fuck off shitlord
