Hacienda of Hope is a safe alternative to emergency hospitalization for people who are experiencing a stressful life event or crisis. This short-term respite home offers a space where peer guests are able to stay short periods of time (usually 3-5 days) to work on their personal growth and wellness in a safe space free of charge. Hacienda of Hope is a welcoming, non-clinical environment, staffed by others who are able to relate, empathize and offer hope and support through crisis.
The two-story home has ten bedrooms which can accommodate up to eight guests at a time. Guests can participate in cooking and household activities of on-site self-help and wellness groups. The orientation process is simple and each guest works with a peer provider who helps them set goals for their stay. Guests have the opportunity to create individualized wellness and recovery plans and connect with local resources for employment, housing, and healthcare.
