Sadie Cathcart

Science Writer

Sadie is a doctoral student and researcher within the Counseling and School Psychology program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Sadie belongs to the school psychology track, and her research interests include the psychosocial implications of chronic illness in childhood, relationships between health and educational opportunities, and creative approaches to boosting student and family engagement in learning. Having dropped out of high school, disgruntled by the many paradoxical and antiquated aspects of the education system, Sadie maintains a long-term commitment to innovation in education and in support of students operating outside of the norm. Sadie seeks to challenge the barriers separating domains of support to students, deriving inspiration from a combination of personal history and professional experiences in both schools and in medical environments.
