Mental Health and Welfare Reform Conference

Mental Health and Welfare Reform Conference

November 5, 2016

Ken Loach's powerful film  I, Daniel Blake, has quite rightly stirred up the debate about welfare cuts, sanctions and the opressive and unjust nature of government policy against the disabled and those with long-term health problems who are unemployed.  Liverpool Hope University is hosting a one day conference on Saturday Nov 5th to examine these issues at length. Speakers include the psychologist Dr. Jay Watts and Roy Bard from the Mental Health Resistance Network. I am also looking forward to speaking at it. You can register at  http://MHWelfareReform.eventbrite.co.uk

The event is  organised by: Social Work Action Network (SWAN), Merseyside Disabled People Against Cuts (Merseyside DPAC), Merseyside TUC, SOS Liverpool, sponsored by: Salford City Unison, Merseyside TUC, Social Work Action Network (SWAN), Wirral TUC, and supported by: North West Psychologists Against Austerity; Free Psychotherapy Network; Alliance for Counsellors and Psychotherapists; Mental Health Resistance Network; Liverpool Against the Cuts
