Exploring the Service User Experience of Mental Health Assessments StudyExploring the Service User Experience of Mental Health Assessments Study – Mental Health Act assessments are a little spoken about experience within mental health. This is the first study to ask service users about their experiences and they told us so many different insights and improvements to this process. This event aims to share their good and bad experience and then to explore how these experience could be improved. It is important time to look at MHA assessments as there is a review of this Act by an independent committee. The study is a collaboration between service user researchers, an AMHP, psychology assistant and Psychiatrists. It has been supported by a Health Education England award, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust Research and Development and Brighterway charity. We would like as many people with lived experience to attend so have some funding to cover travel expenses (not taxis) of service users especially any participants of the research. Please contact the organiser for further information. Exploring the Service User Experience of Mental Health Assessments Study |

Qualitative Research on Mental Health Conference: Rising to a Global ChallengeQualitative Research on Mental Health Conference: Rising to a Global Challenge N/A The Qualitative Research on Mental Health conference has been established as an international transdisciplinary forum for dedicated qualitative research on a range of topics in the field of mental health, using a variety of methodologies and approaches. Previous conferences attracted strong international interest from a diversity of backgrounds, including service users, health and social care professionals, social scientists and health policy makers, and created a space for lively and enriching discussions. Qualitative methods offer essential insight into highly relevant phenomena such as relationship, power and social exclusion, which other approaches are hardly able to deliver. The QRMH conferences are a multidisciplinary, international forum in which research that can address such questions is highlighted, shared and scrutinized.
