AOT/CTO bill has been proposed in Maryland in both chambers, HB1017 an SB0807. Here MIA says “Colleagues like Tom Behrendt, Kathy Flaherty and others in Connecticut who have so far successfully fought the introduction of outpatient forced treatment bills have an incredible amount of history and information that would be best for them to share directly and in detail.” How can I get in touch with these activists to learn more from them? Thank you.
The opera recording is posted, and will be available until March 1. They really did an amazing job with this production, thanks to the entire creative team.
I don’t mean to advocate for censorship, or self-censorship, but I really advise Mad In America to stay out of the Covid science, treatment, and vaccination debates. We are all aware that we are labeled “anti-science” frequently enough already, there’s no need for us to get tarred with the “Covid skeptic” brush on top of that.
The original page I saw said the opera would be online sometime December 1 to December 3, now it looks like it says January 15. Just a heads up.
I believe I saw an article on this site a week or two before this one on a similar topic. It said in some study it was recently shown that by age 66, the general population had a 1.5% chance of dementia, whereas schizophrenics had a 28% chance of dementia. But I must have misread, it must have been 2.8% for schizophrenics, right? Now I can’t find the article to reread it! Was it in the “Around the Web” section? I would appreciate help finding that article again. Thanks.
Edit: Found it, and except for my rounding, it was about what I remembered, quoting from the article “At 66 years of age, the prevalence of diagnosed dementia was 27.9% (17 640 of 63 287) among individuals with schizophrenia compared with 1.3% (31 295 of 2 389 512) in the group without SMI.” The article is by Stroup, here is the link https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33688938/
