  • Isn’t that the best part of Jesus’ story? When he was undoubtably human. Flipping a table and chasing people away because they defiled his father’s house with greed? That’s my favorite part of his ascension. It shows that boundaries are acceptable for everyone and greed is the true original sin. I totally agree that Jesus wasn’t preaching the religious teachings of his time. Was it Druidry? Buddhism? Or something else? I’m not sure but I hope someone researches and writes about it!

  • This makes total sense to me. I also had an electrical problem with my heart called supra ventricular tachycardia that was corrected with an ablation. The electric nodes would trigger and cause my heart to beat over 200 beats per minute. I have relief after surgery but I wonder if perhaps an electrical therapy would have been a less invasive choice.

    Thank you for sharing!

  • Hello! I will definitely check out Wilhelm Reich’s work! Thank you for sharing the reference. I agree that opening yourself to other states of consciousness, through mental work, psychosis, or drugs, etc., can be dangerous. It should never be undertaken without the guidance of an expert and grounding with someone that understands what you’re going through. I hope my story is a cautionary tale about believing too deeply and trying to founder through when you truly need the help of a master. I have certainly lived and learned! I hope others can learn from my experience and flourish, rather than muck about alone and fail. Blessings to you on your journey!

  • Thank you for sharing, Tom. I agree that NDE can be beautiful during the experience. It’s what leads you to the experience that can be trying. I write extensively about this in my articles, “I made a mistake (or avoid surgery near the holidays unless you are dying)” (unpublished) and “When Things Go Wrong” (Witches Magazine, UK, Fall 2023).

An excerpt from “When Things Go Wrong” states, “It’s bound to happen. Something in your life will go wrong. Maybe it will be something small like problems with your vehicle. Maybe it will be something major like facing mortality for yourself or someone you love. There’s a reason the first words out of your mouth during times of distress might be something along the lines of, “Oh, God.” In times of trial and tribulation it’s natural to turn to something you feel is bigger than yourself. Yet, while miracles large and small occur everyday, sometimes no one comes to save you.”

I agree that connection to the higher power is common to experience during a NDE. Expressing that experience with joy and wonder at your survival, and awe and humility at what could have been, is truly a privilege to experience. I am glad to share my own journey and am excited to hear what others have triumphed over. Please, if you have a story, share it as well!
