Ashley is a doctoral student in Point Park University’s PsyD. in Clinical-Community Psychology program, and has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
She is interested in the intersections of philosophy, history, and psychology, and is currently using this approach to develop a theoretical conceptualization of substance addiction that is grounded in the historical, political, and cultural. She is interested in working with individuals and communities, using a humanistic, constructivist epistemology to facilitate the reduction of suffering and to work towards dismantling systems of oppression. Subsequently, she hopes to develop and promote alternative approaches to conceptualization and treatment of psychopathology that allow for the maintenance and reverence of human dignity.
