Inspired by Robert Whitaker’s books and the hard-earned wisdom of other survivors, she eventually began to question and then reject the bio-medical model of psychiatry. Emmeline joined the MIA team as Community Manager in April of 2014, and now serves as the editor of Personal Stories as well as the Art and Poetry galleries. She invites readers to get in touch if they’d like to share their work.
