Usorum

Brainstorm is an initiative created by Usorum that provides the Mad in America community an opportunity to discuss a specific question, and draw on this community knowledge to “offer better options for those who are struggling, and to create new solutions for quality of life.

The founder of Usorum is Dimitriy Gutkovich, a voice-hearer who has written for Mad in America and presented a webinar on voice hearing for Mad in America Continuing Education.

This first brainstorm will address this question:

“Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal: If this has worked for you, what helped?”

The brainstorm discussion, which will be open for one week, from October 2 to October 9, will be moderated by Usorum. Here is Usorum’s guidance for all those who chose to participate:

Usorum should be intuitive to anyone familiar with digital forums. Post, reply, and upvote. While there is a topic aimed to guide the conversation, feel free to make new friends, and put forward anything constructive into the forum space. What we ask above all else is that the space be preserved as respectful and collaborative. To this end, you will have to create an account and login so that we can make sure hostility is left at the door.”

We also invite MIA readers who participate in this first Brainstorm to write us, at [email protected], with your thoughts on this initiative, and whether you found it worthwhile.
