Hundreds of deaths of patients being detained in UK psychiatric facilities between 2010-13 could have been avoided, stated BBC News, following on a report from the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
The report cited a variety of problems in facilities such as lack of monitoring of extremely suicidal patients, inappropriate drugging leading to overdoses, avoidable homicides, and poor information gathering about patients especially during facility transfers.

“Inappropriate drugging [with only neuroleptics] leading to” “drowsiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, heat intolerance, flushing, decreased sweating, difficulty urinating, abdominal cramping, constipation, rapid heart beats, confusion, and memory problems,” at a minimum. Or the central symptoms of anticholinergic intoxication, which are oddly almost identical to the schizophrenia symptoms, “memory loss, disorientation, incoherence, hallucinations, psychosis, delirium, hyperactivity, twitching or jerking movements, stereotypy, and seizures.”
And when the doctors add more drugs to the mix, like the bipolar “mood stabilizers,” they can cause these moderate drug interaction warnings to the adverse side effect mix, “tremor, shuffling of your feet, drooling, a mask-like face, tongue stiffness, muscle spasms or rigidity, and involuntary movements.” Or worsen the central symptoms of anticholinergic intoxication syndrome because the, “central nervous system-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects.”

And I will add, in regards to this article, that in the US the mainstream hospitals are refusing to let the families and friends of “psychiatric” patients visit them, which I agree is deplorable and wrong. And my friends thought it was disgusting when they came to visit me that they were told they were not allow see me, and most within my family now understand it was wrong not to help a family member dealing with the insanity of the psychiatric system, merely because the doctors told them they were not allowed to visit me.

Like George Carlin said with regard to politicians, I think it also applies to most psychiatrists:

Yes, apparently we now have a mainstream medical community that views it’s patients as merely potential organ donation parts, and the millions of dollars those can make for the hospitals and it’s employees.
Hate to say it, but get off the organ donor list if you’re on it. “It’s too tempting for some doctors” as the nice lady at the DMV said when she handed over the form for me to get off the list.
