Psychiatric Hospitalization of Children Soars

From 1996 to 2007, the number of children ages five to 13 discharged from a psychiatric inpatient unit nearly doubled on a per-capita basis. The psychiatric hospitalization of teenagers also jumped dramatically during this period.
