Neuroskeptic compares misconduct as it occurs in science to that of finance, finding that deliberate rule-breaking such as that of Bernie Madoff and others, though highly visible, causes far less damage than the collective behavior resulting from bad rules or no rules as seen in the global banking scandal, and in bad science.
