Jonathan Raskin – Long Bio

DECONSTRUCTING AND RECONSTRUCTING ABNORMALITY

Jonathan D. Raskin is professor of psychology and counseling at the State University of New York at New Paltz. His scholarship focuses on constructivist psychology and psychotherapy, with special emphasis on how people construct conceptions of abnormality. Dr. Raskin is co-chair of the Society for Humanistic Psychology‘s Diagnostic Summit Committee. This committee is overseeing the Global Summit on Diagnostic Alternatives, an internet-based platform for discussion of alternatives to the current diagnostic paradigm.
