R.D. LAING IN AMERICA
Psychoanalyst and author Michael Guy Thompson worked with R. D. Laing in London for many years, and was instrumental in the organization and management of Laing’s post-Kingsley Hall therapeutic communities and training programs. He and other colleagues of Laing’s have organized a conference to honor the 25th anniversary of Laing’s death, to be hosted at Wagner College on Staten Island, NY, in October. Michael writes about the contemporary relevance of Laing’s seminal contribution to humane treatment methods.
