Environment is a Primary Factor in Transition to Psychosis

Researchers (including Jim van Os) find, in a three-year cohort study of 1272 people at possible genetic risk of psychosis, that “most transitions (to psychosis) can be attributed to powerful environmental effects that become detectable when analysed against elevated background genetic risk, indicating gene-environment interaction.” The authors conclude “Environmental risk associated with transition to psychotic disorder is semi-ubiquitous regardless of genetic high risk status.”

  1. I think the largest risk for psychosis is exposure to psychiatric drugs for some other condition first. Read those forums where people talk about there ‘bipolar’. 1000s of posts stating “I took an anti depressant and it made me manic/psychotic… at the hospital they said I was bipolar…”.

Or those forums where parents talk about drugging there kids “we thought it was ADHD but our child became psychotic on those Amphetamines/Methylphenidate… so it ‘must’ be bipolar.”

  2. This is another bogus, junk science article with the pretense that the mental death profession KNOWS that certain genes and now environmental stressors cause voted in DSM stigmas declared INVALID even by their great chief Dr. Insel, Head of NIMH. The rats of NIMH are alive and well with their neverending new eugenics agenda. Many, many articles have been posted on MIA exposing the fraud and neofascist agenda behind the latest bogus genetics claims of the mental death profession including those by Dr. Jay Joseph. Their latest attempt as usual is to blame the victims for supposedly being weak and prone to “mental illness” due to huge psychopathic/environmental stressors that Dr. John Clarke describes so well in the book, Working With Monsters. But, if the fiends can say the victims were just too weak to tolerate and survive their vicious abuse to blame, scapegoat and poison/shock them for maximum sadism and profit, it’s business as usual among the psychopathic elite per the book and web site Political Ponerology.

Because biopsychiatry has been so well exposed as the emperor wearing no clothes time after time especially recently, these psychopaths are taking their typical approach of throw enough lies, obfuscation, eugenic assaults against the disempowered and other evils and much will surely stick just as in Nazi Germany when they referred to those they wished to exterminate as human vermin, their idea of “medical language.” Their DSM stigmas have the same meaning as the “human vermin” stigma had in Nazi Germany, which are codes to destroy the victims with impunity for power, greed and sadism.

As Dr. Jay Joseph and countless articles posted here have exposed, the “gene illusion” and “missing genes” have been all too well exposed for these lying frauds to get away with the pretense that problems of living hijacked, medicalized and voted in by a corrupt group of Big Pharma patsies in biopsychiatry are “mental illness” let alone what causes them.

I would agree that toxic, stressful environments do cause distress and misery, but we didn’t and don’t need the mental death profession to tell us that or to exploit such life crises to scapegoat and blame the victims so they can line their own pockets at the victims’ ongoing horrific expense while colluding with their fellow corporate criminals in power.

On the one hand, I think it is good to get back to common sense in that emotional distress does not come out of nowhere or one’s supposed faulty genes or body. On the other hand, I think it is time for humanity to take back its humanity and eliminate the mental death profession of biopsychiatry in bed with Big Pharma once and for all with its own Nuremburg Trials given its mafia like crimes now exposed on this and many other web sites like 1boringoldman. It is time that the great executives behind this monstrosity should start doing serious prison time subjected to their own lethal treatments so they can be stopped as the greatest danger to humanity ever.

  3. Method

A three-year cohort study examined the rate of transition to psychotic disorder. Binary measures indexing ENVIRONMENTAL exposure (combining urban birth, CANNABIS USE, ethnicity and childhood trauma) and proxy genetic risk (high-risk sibling status) were used to model transition.

SOME young brains can’t metabolize the THC in cannabis and over time, in some vulnerable young people, especially coupled with those who experience one of the multiple childhood traumas that can occur, it leads to a break from reality.

Could educating society that these ” perfect” series of events can, and are, occurring to some young people globally? Let’s hope so because I’m reading already about many addiction clinics in CO having waiting lists for the scores of youth that have developed “marijuana dependency”. I pray these young people will truly be properly educated and supported to break away from this drug that took my son’s brain health, twice. “The system” denied this dependency exists in 2009 and 2011, each of the two times my son went into a psych hosp. And despite the hundreds of scientific studies that exist showing the assoc b/t cannabis and dependency, and in some young brains- psychosis. My son and his family were denied the FACTS. I will stand in the truth as I battle on to try to stop more young lives being wasted.
