naas siddiqui – Long Bio

BIPOLAR – AN INSIDER’S TRANSPERSONAL PERSPECTIVE

naas siddiqui is a psychiatric survivor and clinician. She has 14 years of experience in the community mental health and substance use field and 14 years of experience as a community organizer. She is also psychiatric drug-free, after 14 years. She holds a Masters Degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from CIIS, a BA from Yale in Psychology, with a concentration in Neuroscience. She co-founded the group Spiritual Emergence and Other Extraordinary Experiences at CIIS. She has worked as a clinician at the Liberation Institute, as a Recovery Initiative Specialist at the Strategic Planning Division of the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health, as a Certified Peer Specialist Trainer and Coordinator for the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and as a researcher for the University of Pennsylvania Collaborative on Community Integration (now the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion).

Her research interests include: intergenerational trauma, spiritual emergency, chemical withdrawal psychosis and other side effects, intuition, and parapsychology.  She hopes to bring transpersonal concepts to community mental health.  She also hopes to highlight and push for racial and class equity in the professional field of psychology.
