From Mad in Sweden: As more and more children and adults are diagnosed with ADHD, the prescribing of ADHD drugs also increases. More than 146,000 Swedes picked out at least one prescription in 2020, compared with just over 130,000 the year before. This according to the National Board of Health and Welfare’s recently published fact sheet.
Cynically enough, the National Board of Health and Welfare’s investigator, Peter Salmi, states that the explosive increase that has taken place over the past 15 years in terms of the number of people diagnosed with ADHD is due to âbetter knowledge and increased awarenessâ.
