Bring Me To Life by Evanescence

This week’s Song of the Week was suggested by MIA Staff Susannah Senerchia: “To me this song screams “attachment theory” — which, for as foundational as it is to our mental health, I’d expect to hear more about from the mental health professions. The idea is that we all need a deep relationship with a “special someone” in order to come alive inside and to become ourselves; really, to become whole. As pediatrician and psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott said, “There is no such thing as a baby; there’s a baby and someone.”

  1. yes, I wish so much I could convey how attachment concepts can fundamentally change the entire healing journey for both partners…and it was exactly like ‘bringing to life’ those parts of my wife which had been ‘killed’ by the trauma…truly a beautiful process to be part of and behold…
