The Monster (Explicit) by Eminem ft. Rihanna

This Week’s Song of the Week is recommended by MIA staff Carina Ruggiero: “The chorus of this song is about embracing all the “crazy” and dark parts of ourselves that every human has. The line “You’re tryin’ to save me, stop holdin’ your breath. And you think I’m crazy, yeah, you think I’m crazy,” reminds me of the role psychiatry so often plays in trying to “save” someone by suppressing these parts rather than integrating them.”
