Bob Marley & The Wailers – Redemption Song

This week’s Song of the Week was recommended by MIA Staff Carina Ruggiero: “This is the last song on Bob Marley’s final album before he passed away. He tells a story of years of persecution ending with triumphant victory. This reminds me of the many courageous human beings who have broken free from the oppressive side of psychiatry. In the lyrics “Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds,” Marley asserts that we all have the power we need within ourselves to accomplish freedom.”
