From Mad in Finland: Based on my own experiences, I can’t help but think about what kind of mark different treatment experiences and diagnoses leave on a person’s identity and future life. They certainly affect how others relate to a person and how they treat him. They certainly create self-fulfilling predictions for numerous individuals and narrow the possibilities that one can see oneself as having. I am very concerned about this and the consequences of this premise. From this point of view, the current “mental health crisis” is not exactly viewed, although I think there really is a reason.
