Breathing Underwater by Emeli Sandé

This week’s Song of the Week was recommended by MIA Reader Ellen McCord: “My experience of getting through what is going on with me feels like being in an aquarium, swimming in a different medium than the blank-faced, stoic person sitting and evaluating me. It is so much more isolating in some ways to have another human so completely disconnected. This song is a song of empowerment for me, how I remind myself to keep going even when there’s no connection, even when I’m breathing underwater.
