From Mad in the Netherlands: Through the DID I felt that different parts of my personality led a kind of life of their own. In certain situations they could switch from one moment to the next, suddenly making a different part of it with completely different feelings and emotions. I had no influence on that at all. For example, there was a child- part in me that regularly stuttered. That was something I couldn’t hide and that never bothered me in my ordinary doing. I often suffered from the parts talking together when I wanted to tell something; it was as if they all wanted to have their own say. What I also regularly experienced was that I wasted time, for example when I noticed that I was in a store and that I had no idea how I got there. Another striking thing was that some parts had their own handwriting.
