Peer-supported Open Dialogue (POD)

I was allowed to be one of the first at GGzE in care at Peer- supported Open Dialogue about six years ago on referral from Novadic Kentron. I have been addicted to crack and heroin for twenty-eight years of which the last fifteen years. I smoked cannabis and also used amphetamine regularly, especially at times when I didn’t have enough money to buy crack or heroin. In addition, I took a handful of medication daily, including 80 mg of methadone. POD turned out to be exactly the form of care that suited me.

Safety turned out to be the basis of my recovery for me. Being heard and seen contributed to this.
