A new article published in BMC Medicine finds that antidepressant use in two Scottish regions increased 27% between 2012 and 2019. The current work, headed by Vita Brisnik of LMU University Hospital, also finds long-term use of antidepressants (2 years or more) increased during the same time period. 25.8% of participants using antidepressants in the current research had potential deprescribing indications (PDIs), meaning they were long-term users in high risk categories. While the occurrence of potential high-risk use decreased slightly between 2012 and 2019 (from 37.9% to 34.7% of antidepressant users), the overall number of people in this category increased (from 27,861 to 32,131). The authors write:
Study Finds Over 25% of Antidepressant Prescriptions Given to High-Risk, Long-Term Users
A recent study published in BMC Medicine reveals a 27% increase in antidepressant prescriptions in two Scottish regions from 2012 to 2019 and finds 1 in 4 antidepressant users have potential deprescribing indicators.
Psychosis is not the end of reality, but the beginning of the real. The real is one and infinite. And depression is the truth of our adjustment to and enslavement by a profoundly exploitative, diseased and utterly meaningless society and social process. It conditions our minds and makes them what they are (stupid, because we need to be turned into useful idiots). So stop focusing on our suffering as the problem that needs to be solved. It is the solution, the understanding of which illuminates the real problem, which is the society that produced all this suffering, and no psychiatrist or mental health worker is concerned with that fact, and therefore can never and will never even recognize the cause of the problem, let alone solve it. So what are they doing? You tell me.

Well said. I agree wholeheartedly. I had to get well to participate in the system. It made me worse before I was well. I gave up and got better and now I’m able to participate with this system. It’s inane. Dance, do art, run in the woods, eat clean food, love animals and yourself.

In a hurricane there are little islands to cling to. Clumps of trees. Rolling rooftops. Schools. But when five meteors slam into the ocean the resultant tidal waves will be so monstrously huge that districts will have no islands. That is why it is imperative that people buy life vests and designate a holdall in which to put said comfort drugs. Medication in some cities will be washed away or
looted. So it is great to learn adaptations from Mad In America about how to withdraw calmly if the need arises. Take a look at the current hurricaine disasters filmed recently. Put yourself in those scenes and practice knowing what to do. Delays cause mishaps. A surge or tsunami is a gigantic fast moving bulldozer biting rooms out of houses. Going upstairs may not stop a house dissolving. Luckily, the mad survive better because they have learned to function practically with their fears. A holdall or rucksack needs a supply of food pouches, essential emergency medication, bandages, fire lighting kit, water, torch, solar for cellphones, wind up radio, warm foil cape, light sneakers, valuables, cash, maps, compass, rope to hitch to roof drain pipes or to fling to rescue. There will be no warning. Nasa claims it knows all the meteors of note but these five meteors will be of a size easy to overlook. Everyone globally will feel the same overwhelm that occurred when a virus began to unstoppably spread over the world. But do not let stunned helplessness delay practical action. An attitude of dropping everything and running is a must. People perish because they want to arrive at stadium sized evacuee places looking smart and all in order. Be like the primate you are and climb trees and hills and get up to higher elevations. Dont waste precious minutes on sentimental items or phonecalls. A gigantic wall of water wont wait until youve said “I love you honey”. Just GO! Save who you can but dont get hopelessly stuck in hero mode. Looting and skirmishes will spread. Get to safer land. One way to handle panic is to tell yourself you are in a mirage where awful images are just pixels.
I predicted the global covid pandemic years before it hit. It felt better to have that fore warning than be like a nervous wreck. I predict that the Hoover Dam will be targeted by extremists with bombs. But I cannot say when such events will occur, only that the Dam will be destroyed first…and so that is a sign to prepare for the meteors. I cannot say when the meteors will impact after that. But they wont be of a size to cause irreprable destruction to our planet. They will be small. We can hope they land in the sea. It is important to know that though this and regime changes will come, maybe in a decade or sooner, or beyond, there is a good future on the world. We will adapt to Climate extremes and come together as a species in a way that enhances us all.
To those who can share this please do so but to those who feel startled by it just understand it as the ramblings of a mad woman. A good future will come. I know it will. Be patient and keep going. Joy will be our reward.
