Psychiatrist fired for working with communities and less medicine?

From Mad in Denmark: In a quick analysis on DR’s news app, it is mentioned for the first time on November 25, 2024 that Kristian Kærup Sloth “has for many years been known as the standard-bearer for a direction in psychiatry with a focus on less medicine and more community”, but in a context where it is emphasized that the matter is worse than anything ever seen before – and with a final hypothetical question: “how deep does the specific psychiatrist’s approach with less medicine and more community penetrate the rest of psychiatry?” It is understood that it is deeply problematic if an approach of less medicine and more community should prove to be widespread. The fact that the WHO and the UN specifically recommend a psychiatry that is based on community and relationships rather than unilateral medical treatment is one of many perspectives that are completely absent and at best evidence of decidedly bad journalism.
