From Mad in Sweden: In a historic legal move, the city of San Francisco is suing ten of the world’s largest food companies for their role in promoting ultra-processed foods, which it accuses of contributing to a widespread public health crisis of both physical and mental health conditions, including depression and ADHD. It is the first time a U.S. city has taken the food industry to court on this basis – a move similar to previous lawsuits against tobacco and pharmaceutical companies.
