From Mad in Italy: At the end of May (and then with the major communications campaign in early June), Wonderland Stella Maris Beach in Marina di Pisa was presented as an example of inclusion: a free, “fully accessible,” “barrier-free” beach designed for people with disabilities. Mayor Michele Conti, councilors, institutional representatives, and the heads of the Stella Maris Foundation were present at the inauguration. Photographs, press releases, statements, smiles; everything suggested that Pisa finally had a truly accessible beach.
