Michele Merritt, PhD is a philosophy professor who researches and writes about a broad range of topics. She has published a book on the human-dog relationship, and has lately been publishing articles on adoption and its entanglement with family policing and the mental health industrial complex. She has also experienced suicidality most of her life and has begun exploring how this aspect of her identity intersects with other areas of her research.
