Hi Shiloh, I offer my 100 percent support in your endeavour to be medication free. Though it is seen through lenses of extreme ignorance, and malevolence in some cases, it is, I believe, the only way forward. It is a one true, clear path. Whatever happens, listen to your instincts, trust, and don’t let the fear get to you.
Your words reached out to me as I am also navigating my way through my own stuff. Your views on spirituality, and how ‘mental illness’ as a concept doesn’t feel true really resonate. I am so glad that knowledge is out there. Thank you for your wisdom and your hope, despite everything.
Dude thanks. It’s really great that you people care. I’ve met a really good doctor. It looks like he’s asking the right questions, and looking into me as an artist, in a good way.
My apologies for not being able to respond to every comment, you guys are great and you make the world outside feel a little bit closer. Many hugs and love and much thanks. Keep telling your beautiful stories, and keeping the dream alive!
Hello Kindredspirit, thank you so, so much for your thoughtful support, reflections and advice. I have a deep appreciation for all you’ve said. It’s a journey, and maybe there is the solid happy ending I envision at some point, or maybe it’s only the journey. Either way it’s worth it to have a life. Thanks for all your thoughts and thank you so much for reading.
I’m currently on an injection of Abilify, and have been for the past several years. I want to wean off, but understand when it comes to withdrawing from antipsychotics, some people can even physically die. Some people have seizures and worse. I experienced a horror show when I tried to cut myself off Resperidone, and now I am just on Abilify instead. Are there any success stories out there of people who have managed to wean off of significant doses of Abilify? Are there any real horror stories in the opposite light that are important to be aware of, with this drug, and withdrawal?
