I have read most of Peter Breggin’s important works (including Your Drug May Be Your Problem), and Robert Whitaker’s Mad in America, so I am aware of the all too easy use of pharmaceuticals. On the other hand, some patients benefit from medication, while others need it until they are willing or capable of ceasing its use. If a client wishes to withdraw, or if I see that the medication is a hindrance at a certain juncture, I will work with the client to quit. My work is based on Wilhelm Reich’s theories on a specific bioenergy (orgone, or one can say Freud’s libido objectified) with two components. The first is Character Analysis, which is a specialized form of psychoanalysis, and the second is Orgone Therapy, which is bio-physical work.
