The Rose House located in Milton, NY is an innovative and unique “hospital diversion” program where individuals seeking temporary respite care can stay for one to five nights. The house is a comfortable farmhouse with individual bedrooms, a computer/game room, several common areas and areas to play the musical instruments located throughout the house. There is also space for people to practice art or their hobbies as well. Guests are always greeted by friendly Peer Companions and asked to participate and pick the services the person would like in order to drive the structure of the guests’ stay. Guests are encouraged to choose self-determined activities while staying at the house and fully participate in developing a goal or goals on how to address crisis in the future. Imagine relaxing and talking openly with a peer or fellow guest about issues that are important to you and getting constructive feedback on dealing with issues.
