Mental Illness Mortality is Climbing

Mortality rates in schizophrenia and bipolar patients in the year after hospitalization were about double the national average and rising, according to this study in the British Medical Journal. Increases in circulatory and respiratory disease were the main contributors to the rise in mortality.
