Pharmalot reviews the escalating tension over clinical trial data disclosure. The PhRMA trade group has come out in opposition to AllTrials, a petition drive calling for registration of all clinical trials and release of patient-level data, which has the support of the British Medical Journal as well as GlaxoSmithKline. PhRMA calls the demands “irresponsible with potentially harmful consequences for future medicine development.”
Let us be totally honest here. They don’t want things to be revealed, not because they care about patients confidentiality or patient welfare but because they care totally for their profits. They want to continue raking in the billions of dollars in profit.
