And the list of bad effects just keeps getting longer and longer and the lawsuits keep growing in number, but doctors keep prescribing these toxic drugs to as many people as they can! What is wrong with this picture? I wonder how many of those women who birthed babies with defects attributed to SSRI’s were told by their doctors prescribing them that this could possibly happen? What happened to informed consent?
Effexor, which is a so-called antidepressant slightly different from SSRI’s, causes terrible birth defects in babies. Ob/gyn’s are familiar enough with the problem that they call them “Effexor babies” even before the babies are born. If the ob/gyn knows that the mother has been on this drug she or he prepares before birth for possible problems with the baby. It’s disgusting what’s going on and yet babies keep being born with problems from these toxic drugs.
