Alice Maher, MD – Long Bio

Alice Maher, MD, is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City. She graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Institute for Psychoanalytic Education at the NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Maher is founder and director of Changing Our Consciousness, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of a language for communication across psychological divides. She founded COC and its educational arm, Emotional Imprint™, to discover unique and effective tools that can be shared with and developed by young people. In addition to EI and the Hot Stove Project, she is filming a documentary that addresses political and ethnic conflict from the perspective of neuroscience and psychoanalysis. Dr. Maher’s goal is no less than a change in our individual and collective consciousness.
