Because their parents can’t deal with parental responsibilities? Sorry but there’s no way on the planet to diagnose a toddler with depression or anxiety. If the child is scared, crying, misbehaving etc. you’re not doing your job.
There are some kids who had traumatic experiences (like requiring extensive medical procedures) in their early life and need more support but drugging them into oblivion should be criminal.

I’m glad the WSJ is addressing this appalling societal problem.
