Holding Back The Years By Simply Red

This week’s Song of the Week comes from MIA reader James Gerlagen. He says: “Because the words describe surviving abusive neglect: ‘I’ve wasted all my tears, Wasted all those years. And nothing had the chance to be good. Nothing ever could yeah, oh I’ll keep holding on, I’ll keep holding on, I’ll keep holding on.’ Also, it is a male voice, challenging the feminist stereotype that only girls are abused.
