This week’s Song of the Week was recommended by MIA Reader Daniel Costa Filho: “I don’t know if Danny McCafferty had any direct experience with psychiatry, or if he knew someone dear who had, but this song, in a very loose way, ends up summing up the whole thing with a simple lyric. This song has the same effect for me as the movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, as it can be interpreted symbolically about power struggles and the desire to be free, but at the same time it can be directly understood as a powerfull critique of the mental health system.”
