That’s easy to figure out. It’s because some experts’ reputations and careers depend on maintaining lies useful to them.
Yes, the entire neoliberal system is all about focussing on and reinforcing economic self interest so who do you trust? I’ve read some of Sapolksy’s books and listened to many presentations and to me he seems honest and genuine, but who knows? .
