Killing In the Name by Rage Against The Machine

This weeks Song of the Week was recommended by an Anonymous MIA Reader:

“It isn’t my style at all – but the refrain speaks to my experiences inside too many other-directed institutions, and my “mental health” stays in particular. The over-control is obvious, and it’s probably too raw and too real for some to take in.

All that’s required is that “you do what they told ya” – and if you don’t, they’ll justify putting you in solitary confinement in the county jail, if you are ill and have no insurance. They’ll threaten you with incarceration if you refuse to take their drugs.

Time and ‘Raging Against The Machine’ have saved my life – – too bad my sick siblings weren’t as feisty as I am.”
