For me, there’s nothing more enriching than my period language. It’s what I seek to capture, with successes and failures. Recently, I’ve learned that naiveté is a very beautiful place, unlike a cheap shot. Perhaps that’s the difference between one book and another: learning that poetry eludes us and that we don’t quite know where it’s going.”
