Amanda Burrill served in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer for six years of active duty, followed by two years as an active reservist. At her first command, the USS Dubuque, while serving as Combat Systems and Electronic Warfare Officer, she became a rescue swimmer. At Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One she served as Communications Officer. Deployments took her to Iraq and around the Pacific Rim. Before, during and after her time in service, Amanda was an Ironman triathlete and 19x marathoner. Amanda holds a bachelors from Boston University, a culinary arts Grand Diplome from Le Cordon Bleu, and a masters from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
