Maggie Leppert

Maggie Leppert (She/her) is a psychiatric survivor and abolitionist. After experiencing psychiatric harm herself, Maggie began sharing her story in the hopes that it would help other survivors know that what happened to them is not their fault. As a Mad, Queer, and Disabled community organizer, Maggie believes in the power of humor, self-expression, and relationship- building to enact social change. Maggie received her Bachelor's degree in Disability Studies and Sociology from The College of New Jersey in 2019 and is now a full time artist and all around hell-raiser. Maggie is also known as @thebooksmartbimbo, where she uses social media to encourage other young people like her to question psychiatric propaganda.
