HuffPo Features 15 Part DocuSerial on Risperdal Corruption
Huffington Post and journalist Steve Brill have combined to launch a 15 part series about how Johnson & Johnson illegally violated FDA restrictions by pushing the antipsychotic drug, Risperdal, for use with adolescents and the elderly. The series, entitled āAmericaās Most Admired Lawbreaker,ā launched yesterday and will include mixed media, videos, podcasts, source documents, as well as 15 written chapters. Clipping Care, Not Profit
Right now in Britain there is a controversy shaping up between the commercial and financial interests of big managed-care corporations and the need to care for vulnerable people in the community, people with conditions like dementia and long-term psychoses. Conflicts of interest are nothing new in the contested field of mental health, but this one threatens not only quality of care, but the well-being of low paid workers, mainly women, who are employed as support workers.
